Hats off to anyone who rode up that beast of a hill yesterday! Dave B (pictured) flew by me as if I was slowly walking…which I was. I also have to reluctantly thank the organizers for ramping up the pain factor this year. They made a super hard course and my legs are killing me!! Fortunately I have a job where I sit on my #ss all day because I can barely walk. Thankfully I can park my behind in front of the computer all day today. And according to my wife, my brains not working the best either, so a slow day at the office would be appreciated. I was apparently a bit loopy last night and that was before the ibuprofen and multiple glasses of wine. Personally, that was the hardest cross race this year and for one main reason...the run-up. That run-up sent me way past the red zone and it almost brought me to my knees. Maybe that’s why someone (take a wild guess!) at the top of the hill was telling me to pick up my knees up as I feebly tried to run that hill. Believe me that I would’ve if I could’ve! The organizers really switched up the course this year. The only thing that was the same as last year was the mud. I wouldn't put this as one of my favorites for the year. I know the organizers worked hard and I'm sure there were plenty of riders who like the course. The placement of the three sets of barriers placed right after the mud made my oxygen starved brain work to hard and I found myself fumbling the dismounts. The decision to put three logs on the course wasn't that big of deal but when they're placed them throughout the mud it's kind of hard to bunnyhop as I was never good at BMX anyway. They should have kept the 2x4's cause I think I could at least bunnyhop 1 1/2"! Now I've got a nice dent in my rear wheel. Gives me an excuse now to buy a much needed rear wheel. And that whoop-dee-doo thing on the backside was an interesting idea but I'm interested in what the other riders thought.  Overall, the organizers put on another great event! Yeah, I didn't like the course but it sounds like I'm one of the few if any. It was great to see the huge crowd and Pizza Luce rocks, thanks! I'll definitely be back next year…with a 28x36 gear for that hill.
