Lake Rebecca is a fast, fun course. Despite the humidity, the weather was pretty darn nice. With the favorable weather, I knew the B-race was going to have a big field and getting a good start position would be key. The narrow road leading up to the tight 120 degree turn always causes a stack up and I didn't want to get stuck in the back. So, I'm warming up on the course and Matt A says they're running behind and it's going to be another 20 min before the start so take another lap. I take his advice and head out for another lap and sure enough I come up to the start at the back! ARGH! So, I sneak along the bushes to gain a few spots but I still can't even see the front of the line. Off we go and I'm having to do some sprinting up through the grass to try and get somewhere near the middle of the group before we hit the first turn. I got through the first set of corners smoothly until we go to the run-up and I pulled a dumb-### move and tried to ride it with everyone still stacked up. I hit a root and over the bars. It was a mess! A BCR guy got his bar stuck in my rear wheel and I'm surprised at how civil everyone was. That's a tough hill whether you run or ride. I did ride it every lap after that but it quickly sent me deep into the red zone every time. I'm not sure I would have wanted to look at a HRM on that course. I think I was in the red zone most of the race. I felt like I was going to hurl the entire race. And my wife asked me if I had fun!

Got some mechanical issues to fix for next week. My crank arm keeps loosening and I've got a piece of crap rear hub that either needs to be replaced or I'm just going to ride it until it siezes.

See you at Boom. I hope Rock Bottom is back this year!
